Paul Rudd Recalls Viral Moment on Hot Ones to Wear a Mask

Rudd Stars in PSA Encouraging Americans to Wear Masks

"It's not that hard," Rudd says in the PSA

In a recent public service announcement (PSA), actor Paul Rudd shared his experience with the "Hot Ones" viral moment and urged Americans to wear masks. Rudd appeared on the popular YouTube show in 2021, but his interview was interrupted when he began to cough uncontrollably due to the spicy wings he was eating.

In the PSA, Rudd recalled the incident, saying, "I was coughing so hard I thought I was going to pass out." He went on to say that the experience taught him the importance of wearing a mask, especially in public settings.

"It's not that hard," Rudd said. "Just wear a mask. It's not a big deal." He added that wearing a mask is a small thing we can do to help protect ourselves and others from COVID-19.

The PSA was released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is part of a larger campaign to encourage Americans to wear masks. The CDC recommends wearing a mask in public settings, especially in areas where there is a high level of COVID-19 transmission.

Rudd's PSA has been praised by public health experts, who say it is an effective way to reach people about the importance of wearing masks. "Paul Rudd is a trusted figure, and his message is likely to resonate with people," said Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
