Bayer 04 Leverkusen U13s: League Champions and Top Performers

Impressive Start to the Season

With the exception of the U17s, all the Bayer 04 junior teams were back on the pitch after most had the previous week off. Like the older age group, the Leverkusen U13s also took first place in the the Niederrheinliga group.

League Champions

The U13s secured the league championship with a convincing 5-0 victory over 1. FC Mönchengladbach. The young Werkself dominated the match from the start and deservedly took the lead through a penalty converted by Emirhan Demir in the 12th minute. Further goals from Yasin Aydin (20'), Demir (30', 44') and Luca Thiel (60') sealed the victory and the league title. U13 coach Markus Anfang was delighted with his team's performance: "The boys played a great game and deserved to win the league. We're very proud of them."

Top Performers

In addition to their league success, the Bayer 04 U13s have also been impressive in the Niederrheinpokal cup competition. They reached the semi-finals, where they were narrowly defeated by eventual winners Borussia Mönchengladbach. Goalkeeper Luis Schubert was one of the standout performers in the cup, making several crucial saves to keep his team in the competition. Forward Emirhan Demir was also in fine form, scoring five goals in the competition.

The Bayer 04 U13s are a talented group of young players with a bright future ahead of them. They will be looking to continue their success in the upcoming season and challenge for more silverware.
